The study "Learning under COVID-19 conditions" continues!

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we - a research team of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna - have been investigating how the COVID-19 situation in schools (distance learning, security measures) affects pupils, teachers and students.

Now we are starting a new survey. This time, we investigated the entire school system:

school administratorsteachersparents and students.

  • How are they doing?
  • What are they doing well?
  • What is particularly difficult right now?
  • What kind of support do they need?

In our last survey, we examined school and learning from the perspective of pupils (above 5th grade), parents, teachers, and school administrators. The results show that all groups perceived the COVID-19 situation as very stressful, but have grown in dealing with the crisis. However, we hypothesize that at-risk groups were more likely not to have participated in our study. High relevance for the successful handling of the crisis had for all groups social inclusion and support but also perceived competence, thus confirming previous findings.
